Description
Chaume Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th or 18th century. It is constructed of rendered brick with a stone plinth and features a thatched roof. The building has a ridge stack located at the right center and is 1½ storeys high. There are three eyebrow dormers, each with renewed 2-light casements. Below the thatched porch, there are renewed 3-light casements. On the left end of the cottage, there are two 2-light casements, while the right end has one 2-light casement. Additionally, there is one eyebrow dormer with casements and a door located at the rear.
Inside, the cottage features ceiling beams and an inglenook with a massive beam and hood. There are two cross walls with a tie beam roof, crossed halved principals, a single purlin, and curved upper principals in the middle bay.
