Description

No. 15 High Street is a house that possibly dates back to the 17th century but was largely rebuilt in the early 19th century and later. It features a high dressed stone plinth with colourwashed render over brick above, and a hipped roof covered with 20th-century interlocking tiles, along with brick chimneys. The building has two storeys and cellars, arranged in three bays with offset eaves. The outer bays contain late 19th-century tripartite sash windows. Slightly to the right of the center, there is an earlier 19th-century sash window with marginal glazing, and a late 19th to early 20th-century four-centred arch leading to a recessed six-panelled door, which is accessed by stone steps. At the rear, there is a large wing with a later 19th-century colourwashed brick extension at the far end. Inside, the cellar walls have early narrow brick, and there are fragments of reused timbers. The building is included for its group value.
