Description
Nos 3 to 5 on Church Lane are a row of almshouses built in 1670, founded by Thomas Harley. The buildings are constructed of uncoursed rubble and feature a gable facing the street. This single range of two storeys with an attic has a main facade consisting of five bays. It includes two doorways with deep plain architraves and hoodmoulds, as well as two-light mullioned windows. There are three dormer windows in the attic with shaped openings between them. The corners of the building are accentuated with angle quoins. The gable end displays three two-light mullioned windows with hoodmoulds and latticed panes, along with a coat of arms set in the coped gable.
