Description

Manor Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse with later modifications, constructed in timber frame and brick. It has a hall and cross-wing plan, with the entrance situated between the two units. The cross wing exhibits exposed timber framing with large panels and arch braces, although its ground floor is now bricked. The main range has been clad or rebuilt in brick, divided into two units by a stack. A brick string course runs at first-floor height, and there’s an additional doorway to the east of the elevation. The windows are 2- and 3-light casement windows from the 19th century. The gable end has three windows with segmental brick arched heads. The gable is finished with moulded brick coping. The main range is roofed with Swithland slate, while the cross wing has been re-roofed with plain tiles.
