Description
The rear wings of numbers 19 and 21 on High Street date from the 17th century but feature significant 19th-century work. The building has a stuccoed facade with a wide moulded eaves cornice supported by brackets and an old tiled roof. It is two storeys high with three projecting bays, each containing five-light stone mullioned windows on both storeys. The doors are five-panel with plain reveals, and there are moulded stone cornices above the doors and windows. The rear facade, which is from the 19th century, is made of red brick with geometric designs in yellow and blue brick and features triangular dormers. The rear crosswing and east-west wing are also two storeys high and have five sash windows with glazing bars. An elaborate end bargeboard is present, and the first-floor window has a balustraded treatment below it. This building is part of a group that includes No 5, Nos 9 to 21 (odd), No 11A, the Coach House at No 19, as well as No 4, Nos 6 and 8 (The George Hotel), and Nos 10 and 12 (including No 1 Wilton Place).
