Description
Lloyds Bank is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of High Street. It features a good symmetrical design, constructed from red brick with stucco bands and sills. The building has a small ornamental frieze, an eaves cornice, and a low blocking course. The slate roof includes one round arched dormer. The structure stands three storeys high and has five windows, with a slightly chamfered bay at the center that extends through all storeys. The top storey is distinguished by three centre bulls-eye windows. The first floor showcases moulded cornices and pediments above the side windows. The ground floor originally had round arched windows and doors, which have now been replaced by a window featuring an archivolt and keystone. Below the windows on the ground floor is a balustraded treatment, and both the ground and first floors have unbarred sash windows. Lloyds Bank, along with Nos 9 to 21 (odd), No 11A, and the Coach House at No 19, forms a group with No 4, Nos 6 and 8 (The George Hotel), and Nos 10 and 12 (including No 1 Wilton Place).
