Description
The Bell Hotel is a building with a facade dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features a moulded eaves cornice and a stucco band between the floors. Constructed of red brick, the roof is not visible. The building stands three storeys high and has a symmetrical facade with three windows, along with an additional recessed northern bay above the coach entrance at the rear. The ground floor is rendered, while the first floor has sash windows with glazing bars. The main part of the facade includes two sashes of three lights each, flanking a central oriel window with a panelled base. The ground floor has three sashes of three lights each, with the central window flanked by two doors that have flat hoods on brackets and pilasters. The northern door features a traceried fanlight, while the southern door has been altered to contain a window. The Bell Hotel and No 4 are part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 6 South Parade.
