Description

The stable block, dating from the early 18th century, is located 60 meters east of The Hall (number 1, Town's Lane) in Goadby Marwood. It is constructed of coursed ironstone and features a roof made of Collyweston stone slate. The building has two storeys, with the north side showcasing a central door flanked by a two-light cross casement window on each side, all fitted with leaded glass. The gabled roof is adorned with decorated bargeboards. There is a hay loft door on the first floor of the west gable. An attached coursed ironstone wall extends south and then returns west and north to a gate pier. This gate pier is made of rusticated limestone blocks topped with a moulded cornice, and it features an ogee square cap that rises to a ball finial. This pier is a pair to another mentioned in a previous entry.
