Description
The stable block located to the north-west of Gunthorpe Hall dates from the mid-18th century, with an early 19th-century wing at a right angle to it. The eastern side is constructed of brick, while the western side features flint and some rubble work, divided by a central cupola. The building has a black glazed pantiled roof and stands two storeys tall. The brick section includes three fixed casement windows with glazing bars and an oculus on the first floor, aligned along the center. The flint section has two casement windows, a door, and cart shed arches that have been partly replaced by 20th-century doors. A brick dentil cornice runs along the top. The wooden central cupola features a clock at its base and an open four-sided aedicule above the brick stable wing. There is also a one-storey brick wing with a hipped black pantiled roof on the south side. The early 19th-century wing has two windows and two stable doors under rubbed brick arches, along with two double cart doors. An outshut extension is present to the north.
