Description
The Fox Inn is a mid-18th century building located on Leicester Street. It features a stuccoed facade with a plinth and a slate roof that has a central chimney. The inn is three storeys high and has four windows, which are sash windows with glazing bars, except for the ground floor where there are later windows that include mullions, a transom, and shouldered architraves. The entrance door is off centre and is adorned with a cornice and a large keystone. An archway with a timber lintel on the east side provides access to the rear yard, which includes a rear wing.
The Fox Inn is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 21 (odd), Nos 25 and 27, as well as Nos 1 to 3 in Leicester Yard, the entrance gates and bandstand in New Park, The Golden Fleece Public House, and Nos 36A and 38 opposite. Notably, Nos 21, 25, The Golden Fleece Public House, and Nos 36A and 38 are considered buildings of local interest.
