Description
Saltby Primary School is a school built in 1871. It features finely coursed ironstone and plain tile roofs and is designed as a single-storey T-plan, with a cross wing to the east. The main range is illuminated by two 3-light casements set under pointed segmental gauged arches, with each light having a trefoiled design. To the right, there is a segmental door beneath a porch hood supported by arched braces. The roof is gabled, and the south end of the gabled cross wing has a canted bay on the ground floor, with windows matching those of the main range. Above this bay, there is a trefoiled date plaque set within a brick surround, and the building features elaborated bargeboards.
