Description

St Michael's Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse situated on the south side of Stonesby Road, Sproxton, Saltby. It is constructed of coursed ironstone with a roof of Swithland slate. The farmhouse is two storeys and has attics, arranged over three bays. A blocked central doorway is visible on the west front, above which is one two-light casement window. To either side of the former doorway are three-light casements with a transom. These three-light windows are repeated on the upper floor, but without the transom. Some windows have been replaced in the 20th century. The building features a brick dentil eaves cornice, and the graded slate roof has gabled ends, each with internal stacks. Dormer windows are set into the gable heads.
