Description

The former laundry, now a house, along with an adjoining outbuilding, boundary wall, and gate piers, is located to the north of Cold Overton Hall. This structure dates from the mid 17th century, late 18th century, mid 19th century, and early 20th century. It is built from coursed and squared ironstone and limestone, featuring ashlar dressings and half-hipped roofs made of Collyweston slate and pantiles. The building has two storeys plus attics and consists of three bays.

On the south end, there is a central panelled door from the 20th century. Above this door, to the left, is a chamfered stair light, and further up is a central three-light mullioned casement with moulded mullions. The east side features a casement to the right, and above it are three 19th-century wooden mullioned casements with three lights and wooden lintels. Above these is a slate-hung gabled dormer with a two-light casement.

To the left, there is a moulded coped boundary wall that includes a range of 20th-century sheds under a wooden canopy. The north side has a square hatch and a large opening above it, which contains closely set wooden diamond mullions and shutters. Above this is another three-light mullioned casement. Further left, there is a boundary wall with a chamfered stone doorway, followed by a lean-to outbuilding with a door to the right. Beyond this, there are two late 18th-century square rusticated gate piers topped with ball finials, an overthrow with a central lamp, and iron gates.

Inside, the building features a notable stone spiral staircase. This structure is part of the original outbuildings associated with Cold Overton Hall.
