Description
The Fox and Hounds is a public house located on Somerby Road in Cold Overton. It was built in the late 18th century, with some additions made in the mid-19th century. The building features coursed and squared ironstone and brick, topped with Collyweston slate and pantile roofs. It has a rendered plinth and three gable and external corner brick stacks.
The structure is three storeys high and has two bays, arranged in an L-plan. The south front includes a central half-glazed door, flanked by single three-light sliding sash windows. Above this are two glazing bar sashes, followed by another two three-light sliding sashes. All openings are fitted with wooden lintels. To the right, there is a lean-to addition that features a 20th-century casement window and a close-boarded hatch above.
On the west side, there are 20th-century casement windows on each floor. Inside, the building has chamfered span beams, one of which has a barred stop.
