Description
The Fox and Hounds Public House is a public house dating from the 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins and stone dressings, topped with a Collyweston slate roof featuring moulded stone end stacks and stone-coped gables. The building stands 2½ storeys high and has three 8/8 sash windows on the upper floor, along with a similar blank frame that displays a painted sign. Above, there are three 4/4 sash dormers.
On the ground floor, there is a central stone bay to the left, which contains a combination of 4/4, 6/6, and 4/4 sash windows. This is followed by a two-leaved part-glazed door with an overlight, where the glazing bars form a diamond pattern, and a stone canopy supported by carved consoles, with a blank frame above. There are also two additional 8/8 sash windows on this level. The lintels above the windows feature keystones. At the rear, there are two and one-storey wings with end stacks.
