Description
Old Dovecote is a house that was originally built as stables and a dovehouse in the 18th century and converted in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble stone with quoins and stone dressings, topped with a Collyweston slate roof featuring a stone side stack. The main facade faces the school at the rear and is designed with one and a half storeys.
The building has a symmetrical layout, featuring a small central pyramid roof block flanked by two small side wings. Each wing is adorned with a round-arched window, while the central block showcases a Venetian window. Above this window, there are two 2-light casements and a blank central window frame. The roof is topped with a lead and wooden square louvre. The entrance is accessed through a door set within a 20th-century columned porch, and the building also includes two-light casements and two 2-light dormers.
