Description

Fleming’s House is a house dated 1620, originally built as almshouses. The original construction used ironstone, with some parts surviving in the ground floor. The building was entirely rebuilt in brick during the late 18th century and the windows were replaced in the late 20th century. It has a pantile roof. The house is two storeys high and has four bays. A C18 panelled door is located in the second bay from the left, above a six-vaned fanlight. A stone plaque above the door reads "Dr Fleming's Hospital 1620." There are three late 20th-century casement windows on the ground floor and four on the first floor. The gabled roof has an internal north gable-end stack and a ridge stack positioned to the right of centre.
