Description

The Rectory is a large house dating from 1708, with significant additions made in 1789 and the 19th century, and further alterations in 1988. The original western section is built of coursed ironstone, while the remainder is of brick. The roof is slate-covered, and the house has two storeys and a dormer attic.

The south front has three bays of stone to the left, defined by ironstone quoins. A 19th-century gault brick bay window occupies the left side, with a 20th-century glazed door to the right. The entrance door is set within an 18th-century ashlar frame, featuring a semi-circular head and a six-paned fanlight above. Three sash windows are located on the first floor, set within stone surrounds formed of bolection mouldings. The roof is gabled with two flat-topped dormers.

Internal gable-end stacks are present; the stack on the right is incorporated into a single-bay brick extension. Sashes are present on the south side of the extension, and to the east, there is a large two-storey 19th-century bay window and two further window bays.
