Description

Providence Cottage is a house dated 1723, constructed of brick with a pantile roof. The entrance is located on the west side. The building has two storeys, featuring a door that is left of centre, flanked by one 20th-century casement window on each side. There is a platband between the floors. On the first floor, there is a 4-light 20th-century casement window positioned above the door. The gabled roof has internal gable-end stacks, with the northern stack reduced in height. The south gable head displays the initials and date "R E H 1723" in burnt headers. The gable wall has two platbands and three 20th-century casements. At the rear, there is a late 19th-century outshut below an area of coursed limestone slips, and to the right of this, there are two 2-light 18th-century casement windows.
