Description

The Sewstern War Memorial is a war memorial erected in 1921. It is carved from granite, featuring an inscription in lead lettering. The memorial consists of a roughly-hewn tapered plinth with rounded upper corners, topped by a roughly-hewn Latin cross. The raised panel on the north-west face of the plinth bears the inscription:

IN EVERLASTING MEMORY / OF (NAMES) / WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES / IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 / THEY DIED THAT WE MIGHT LIVE.

The memorial is enclosed by hoop-headed wrought iron railings, which include a gate on the north-west side.
