Description

This is an early 18th-century barn and stables, with alterations and an addition from the 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, along with red brick detailing. It has a pantile and asbestos roof.

The two-storey, two-bay front exhibits an irregular arrangement. An off-centre double door from the 19th century is set within a segmental-headed opening with a red brick surround. To the left of this is a blocked opening, above which is a boarded opening, and beyond that, a 19th-century Tudor ashlar doorway with matching blocked sidelights, all beneath a hood mould, associated with a former Sunday School. Four breather holes are visible. The front wall shows extensive patching, revealing substantial rebuilding. A boarded opening with a red brick surround is located in the right-hand gable, while the left-hand gable is constructed of 20th-century blockwork. The building is included on the list solely for its group value.
