Description
The Old Rectory, formerly listed as The Rectory, is a private house located on Church Hill in Knipton. This building dates from the 19th century and is constructed of ironstone with limestone dressings. It features a west range with a roof made of black glazed pantiles, while the remainder of the building has a slate roof. The structure has two storeys and attics.
The west front is composed of three bays, prominently featuring a central three-storey gabled porch from the mid-19th century. The ground floor of the porch is made of stone, while the upper part is brick, with one sash window on each floor. On either side of the porch, there are late 19th-century canted bay windows, each containing three sashes. Above, the first floor has mid-19th-century horned sashes. The roof is gabled and includes an internal gable-end stack on the south side.
