Description

The Hercules Inn and adjacent house date from the early 19th century. The inn is constructed of painted brick with a hipped roof covered in plain tiles. It originally comprised a single bay facing the street, featuring a doorway with a console canopy on the right and a 25-pane sash window with a flat arched head to the left, on both the ground and first floors. A further bay is set back slightly to the left, incorporating an archway leading to the rear of the property, with a 25-pane sash window above. To the right of the inn, the adjacent house has a doorway within a round-headed archway on the left, and two fixed windows with two panes of glass, alongside a 20-pane sash window. Three further 20-pane sash windows are located above. A hipped roof covers the inn, while the house has gable end stacks. Dentilled eaves are present throughout the building.
