Description
Holly Trees, located at No 54 on Main Street, is a cottage built in the late 18th century, designed in the Gothic cottage ornée style. The building features painted brick with a dentilled brick eaves cornice that slopes up to the center. It has a decorative thatched hipped roof with a central painted brick chimney stack. The cottage is two stories tall and has three windows: a single wide, four-centred arched window in the center above the doorway, and paired lancet windows with glazing bar casements on either side of the door. These side windows are set within pointed arch panels that have blind arches and blind quatrefoils above them. The entrance is highlighted by a weatherboarded thatched gabled porch with scalloped barge boards at the center, featuring a half-glazed door.
