Description
North Lodge is a lodge that has been converted into a cottage, dating from around 1830 and designed in a picturesque 'Olde Englishe' style. The building is plastered and features applied half-timbering. It has scalloped eaves on a plain tile roof, which includes a ridge stack. The structure is one storey with an attic and has a two-window front. The first-floor windows are diamond-lattice casements set in small oriels supported by carved brackets, which have gables above them. The barge boards are pierced in a wavy pattern, adorned with end pendants, central pendants, and pinnacles. The ground floor windows are situated in very shallow bays, each with shaped aprons and pentice hoods on carved brackets above. At the right-hand (west) end, there is a projecting first floor supported by four twisted columns on high bases. The central entrance features a ribbed door flanked by two windows, with an oriel above that has a pentice roof. There is also a lower wing at the rear of the building.
