Description

A pair of cottages dating from the mid-19th century, located on Thurnby Lane in Stoughton. The cottages are constructed of colourwashed brick with a hipped roof covered in black-glazed pantiles. A colourwashed brick stack sits centrally on the ridge. Wide eaves are fitted with gutters supported by iron brackets. The windows and doors are designed in a Gothic style. The two storeys each feature two two-light casement windows, accompanied by a central blank window. These windows are characterised by pointed arches filled with brick, and have imposts. On the ground floor, similar windows are positioned on either side of a pair of doorways, each featuring plank doors. The front elevation also incorporates two boot-scrapers, set within a pointed arch recess. A lean-to extension is present at the rear.
