Description

This is a house, originally built in the early 19th century, but incorporating elements from a core dating back to the late 16th or 17th century. It has been divided into two separate dwellings. The front of the building is colourwashed brick with a corrugated tile roof and three brick stacks. Wide eaves are supported by iron brackets. The windows are predominantly 3-light, centre-opening casements, with sashes. The ground floor includes a door, two 19th-century canted bays with sashes, and a smaller window with a secondary window above. A later 20th-century addition to the rear includes a single-light window over a part-glazed door. Inside one of the dwellings (No. 23), chamfered ceiling beams are visible. A section of a cruck blade is exposed in the party wall with the adjacent property at No. 25, appearing to form the foundation of that visible blade on the front of the neighbouring cottage.
