Description

Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It is timber framed with brick panel infill and has a plain tiled roof that replaced the original thatch. The building is two storeys high and has a T-plan layout, with the main range positioned at right angles to the street. This main range is raised on a granite plinth and features a sill beam along with post and truss construction. It has continuous vertical posts, two middle rails, and curved arched braces at the corners. The gable wall consists of three panels and the total length of the wall is nine panels. Inside the gable apex, a queen strut with collar and upper V-strut roof truss is visible. The gable end has two light casement windows, which are also found on the inner wall. There are gable and axial stacks present. The wing of the house is likely of similar construction, although only the wall plate is visible beneath the render. The outer doorway leads to a new oriel bay window, which features a three light casement, with an eyebrow dormer above. The gable is coped and corbelled out, with a stack. There is an additional bay of lesser height beyond this, which is of less interest and not included in the schedule.
