Description
Number 36 and the attached barn in Dunton Bassett is a house dated 1810. It is built of brick and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is three storeys high and has three bays, with a slight canted shape along the street. The central door features a radial fan and is sheltered by a canopy supported on curved console brackets. The windows are replacements from around 1900, set in their original openings, and have cambered brick heads. They are triple light sashes with small upper panes, with two lights positioned above the doorway. The house has a dentilled eaves band and gable end stacks. The date 1810 and the initials ER are inscribed on a slate at the gable apex. To the left, there is a lower bay with renewed casement windows, followed by a long barn that has a single cambered headed doorway.
