Garden Walls, Summer House, Gate Piers, Gates and Steps at Nevill Holt Hall Preparatory School and Font House

The garden walls, summer house, gate piers, gates, and steps at Nevill Holt Hall Preparatory School and Font House date from the 18th and 19th centuries. They are constructed from red brick, coursed rubble stone, dressed stone, wrought iron, and wood. The 18th-century red brick walls, which have a coursed rubble stone plinth, enclose the gardens and are partially topped with tiles. At intervals, there are openwork stone crestings over gateways featuring stone arches, and the walls stand approximately 3 meters high.

Aligned with the Dining Room of the school, there is a gateway flanked by brick piers topped with stone urns. A fine wrought iron gate with side panels is located here. Along Paddock Lane, a raised walkway features a central flight of stone steps, with pedestals and urns on either side, and a sundial pedestal at the top. Facing Paddock Lane, there is a coursed rubble stone retaining wall with stone coping and buttresses. The wall at the top of the avenue ends in a rusticated stone pier topped with a ball, and nearby is a stone gateway in the wall. There are a few additional openings around the perimeter. Inside the small walled garden, there is a painted wooden open summer house that projects from the wall, featuring fluted columns at the front corners and a pediment above.
