Description
Stone House is a house dated 1850, constructed from coursed squared stone and rubble stone, featuring quoins and stone dressings. The roof is made of Collyweston slate, with a catslide at the rear and moulded stone end stacks. The gables are coped with stone. The building has two storeys, each with two 6/6 sash windows set in stone frames. The central doorway is moulded in stone and features a 4-centred arch with carved spandrels and a hood mould. The door itself has three long panels and a small central glazed panel. Above the door is a blind window frame with a hood mould, and within this is a carved stone cartouche with a crest in high relief. The cartouche is inscribed 'C.G.N. MDCCCL', which stands for Cosmo George Nevill.
