Hurst's Farmhouse

Hurst's Farmhouse is a house dated 1712 with early 19th-century elements, located on Glen Road. The building is constructed of red brick, with some dark bricks, and features a Welsh slate roof with brick ridges and stacks at the left end and rear. The main front is oriented to the rear and consists of two ranges, with the right range dating from 1712 and standing two storeys high.

On the first floor of the right range, there are five casements: from the left, a centre-opening three-light, a two-light, another centre-opening three-light, a one-light, and a three-light window. The three-light windows have cambered lintels. The ground floor features, from the left, a three-light window, a blocked door, a one-light window, a centre-opening three-light window, a door, and another three-light window, the last of which also has a cambered lintel. This range has a plinth and a band.

The left range, which is early 19th century and possibly built on 18th-century foundations, has three storeys. It includes a centre-opening three-light casement on both the first and ground floors, and on the second floor, there is a three-over-three sash window, a three-light horizontal sliding sash, another three-over-three sash, and a one-light casement. On the ground floor to the right, there is a gabled porch with a six-panelled door, where the top four panels are glazed.

Facing Glen Road, there are various casements, including two two-over-two sashes and a part-glazed door. Inside, the farmhouse features chamfered beams and two inglenook fireplaces. On the earlier range facing Glen Road, there is a stone tablet inscribed with 'B' over 'RA 1712'. The building was formerly known as The Poplars.
