Description
Lodge Farmhouse is a house located on Main Street in Illston on the Hill. It dates from the late 17th century to the 18th century, with a 19th-century extension. The building features red brick and coursed rubble stone in parts, topped with a Welsh slate roof that has two brick ridge stacks. It consists of three ranges, with two and two and a half storeys. The right range, likely from the late 17th century, is constructed of rubble stone and has a two-leaved plank door and a two-light casement window to the right. The central range, dating from the 18th century, has a brick band, an 8/8 sash window on both floors, and a two-light horizontal sliding sash window in the attic. The left range, built in the 19th century, features a canted bay with a 3/3 sash window on its left end. At the rear of the central range, there is an 8/8 sash window, a 3/3 sash window, and a two-light leaded casement window above. Inside, the farmhouse includes chamfered beams, two fielded-panelled doors, and a double inglenook with a hood.
