Description
The Laurels is a house located on Main Street in Illston on the Hill, dating from around 1800. It is constructed of red brick with a Welsh slate roof and features brick end stacks. The building has brick dentilled eaves and stands 2 and a half storeys tall, with three 6/6 sash windows that have brick and stuccoed lintels. The central entrance has a wooden doorcase topped with a flat leaded canopy, which is supported by wrought iron brackets. The door itself is a six-panelled design, with the upper four panels being glazed. On the right end of the house, there is an attic with a two-light horizontal sliding sash window and a one-storey extension that has a Swithland slate roof. Additionally, there is a 1 and a half storey wing at the rear.
