Description

Gardener's Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage built of brick and topped with a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has a two-unit plan. The central doorway is framed by an impressive pedimented case, which is not in its original position and appears to be out of scale, possibly having been removed from the old hall when it was demolished in the 1950s. The moulded achitrave features fine volutes that support the pediment. The outer windows, which are set beneath square-headed hoodmoulds, are two-light casements, with each light featuring a Gothic arch and ornate glazing bars. There is a blind central upper window space, and the cottage has gable end stacks.
