Description
Skeffington Vale is a house built in the early 19th century, with a later added wing. It is constructed of brick and has a Welsh slate roof. The house features a symmetrical south facade with two storeys and three bays, plus an additional bay on the left that includes a canted full-height bay window with triple-light sash windows on each floor. The main part of the house has a central doorway with an overlight, which is sheltered by a leaded canopy supported by console brackets. Each floor has 16-light sash windows with gauged brick heads, and there is a stone string-course and a modillion eaves cornice. The attic has three gabled dormers, and there are brick gable and axial stacks.
On the north front, the main section consists of three bays with a central doorway framed by an architrave, featuring a medallion frieze and console brackets that support an entablature. This side also has 16-light sash windows with gauged brick heads. The roof has been heightened and includes three dormers. There is a later addition on the left with a single triple-light sash window on the first floor, and other later additions are recessed to the left.
