Description
White Lodge is a cottage with two distinct parts, located in Skeffington. The front section dates from the early 19th century and features painted brickwork with a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high and consists of two units, with a central door that has an overlight and flanking 16-light sash windows on each floor. There are gable end stacks. The rear wing may date from the 16th or 17th century and is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble, with a mud lower gable wall that incorporates a spindly cruck. This section has a thatched roof and is one and a half storeys tall, featuring three 2-light casement windows on the ground floor with flat timber lintels, and two eyebrow dormers above, each containing 2-light casements.
