Description

This is a village pump located approximately 10 metres south of Too Cottage. It dates from the 18th century and was restored in the 20th century. The pump stands about 5 feet high and features a wooden box with a lead spout at its base and an iron handle on its right side. A metal plaque on the front reads, "MARKET HARBOROUGH RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL - THIS WATER IS UNFIT FOR DRINKING PURPOSES BY ORDER." It is important to note that Too Cottage is not a listed building.
