Description

The Old Village Pump is a village pump located on Church Lane in Bishop Burton. It dates from the mid-19th century and was restored in the 20th century. The pump is made of cast iron and wood and is raised above the fence surrounding the village pond. It features a circular vertical pump chamber and a curved spout, which has a wooden extension for easier access. The wooden handle is connected to an iron rod, allowing it to be used from its elevated position.
