Description
Fairhaven Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 16th or 17th century, with later dates of 174? and 1772. The building features coursed squared stone in a small part, while the majority is constructed of red brick with a rubble stone plinth. It has roofs made of Swithland and Welsh slate, complemented by brick ridge and end stacks. The eaves are moulded brick with dentilled detailing.
The main range includes a cross wing that projects forwards on the right side. The house has two storeys with three 2-light casements on the upper floor, and similar windows on the ground floor, which also have top lights. The ground floor features a stone section on the centre right that includes two windows and a doorway between them, topped by a stone 4-centred arch and a part-glazed door. Additional casements are present on the left end of the building.
On the inner return of the wing, there is a 2-light casement above a similar window with a top light. The gable facing the wing has two 9-pane windows and the date 1772 displayed in black bricks, while the left end gable shows the date 174? in a similar style.
