Description

East Thorpe Cottage is a roadside cottage dated 1773. It is constructed of red brick with a rubble stone plinth and has a Welsh slate roof, featuring a brick stack on the right end. A brick band runs along the building, and the eaves are nogged. The cottage has two storeys with two three-light horizontal sliding sash windows on each floor; the ground floor windows have cambered lintels. A central door is sheltered by a gabled canopy. A tablet on the right-end gable is inscribed with the initials "I.W." and the date "1773".
