Description
Meynell Lodge and Meynell Cottage are two dwellings, likely built in the late 18th century and early 19th century. The front of the buildings is whitewashed render, with brick dentil eaves and a front roof of Swithland slate. The rear roof is a mix of Swithland slate and Welsh slate, with a brick ornamental ridge and end stacks. The property features octagonal flues in pairs and a four. The front has two storeys and six windows, including three 2-light horizontal sliding sashes, a staircase sash with 6/12 panes, and two further 2-light horizontal sliding sashes. On the ground floor, the left end has a 20th-century door with a gabled canopy, a 2-light horizontal sliding sash, a 2/2 paired sash, a 6-panelled door with a gabled canopy, and a 2-light horizontal sliding sash. A lean-to extension on the left end has a 20th-century tile roof and a brick stack. The rear windows include three 3-light casements on the first floor, with glazing bars arranged to form Gothic arches. A garden wall, approximately 2 meters high, constructed from granite rubble stone and red brick, extends from the right end. At the end of the wall is a stable, approximately 1½ storeys high and built in similar materials, with a pantile roof.
