Number 33, Yew Tree House And Adjoining Outbuildings

This is a late 17th and early 18th century house, with alterations and additions from the 19th century. It is constructed of brick, partly rendered and whitewashed, with moulded brick detailing and plain tile and slate roofs. There are three rendered gable stacks, one external, positioned on the east side. The house is two storeys high plus attics, and comprises five bays, forming an L-shaped plan.

The north front has a pair of brick pilasters and a deep, moulded brick eaves cornice. The central entrance has a 19th-century half-glazed door, topped with a hood supported by curved wrought iron brackets. Flanking the door are single late 19th-century three-light casement windows. Above the entrance is a blank panel flanked by two two-light casements, all with rubbed brick heads. Above again are two 19th-century gabled dormers featuring bargeboards and two-light casements. To the left is a two-storey 19th-century service wing, including a garage door and a door with a segmental head. The upper level of this wing has a central blank panel flanked by single two-light casements, all with segmental heads.

A rear wing, to the south, features two 19th-century additions, three bays in width. A 19th-century half-glazed door sits in the return angle.

Inside, a late 18th-century oak staircase has stick balusters and a scrolled handrail, and a six-panelled door includes a fanlight.
