Description

This is a house, originally one of a group of cottage homes constructed in 1884 for the Leicester Poor Law Union. Designed by I. Baradale, it is built of brick with a Welsh slate roof. The property has a cruciform plan, with the main axis running parallel to The Drive, and is similar in design to numbers 3, 5, and 8. It has four irregular bays, with the central left-hand bay projecting as a gabled wing. A lean-to porch is attached to the right of this gabled projection. The windows are a mix of sash and casement styles, grouped together and finished with flat arched brick heads. Gable and axial stacks are present.
