Description

Ivanhoe House is an early 18th-century house located on the south side of Main Street, Smisby. It is constructed of rendered brick with a plain tile roof, brick external gable stacks, and stone coped gables featuring plain kneelers. The facade is characterized by plain bands at the first and second floors and a dentil eaves cornice.

The symmetrical north elevation has two bays and includes two steps leading to a central doorway with a wooden surround and flat hood, containing a panelled door. Flanking the doorway on each side are three-light segment-headed casement windows, with two similar windows above. All windows have 20th-century louvred shutters. The rear elevation features four three-light segment-headed Yorkshire sash windows, a doorway with a half-glazed door, and a tall staircase window.

Inside, the house contains a dogleg staircase with splat balusters.
