Description

The Lock Up, also known as the Round House, is a lock up building dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with sandstone dressings and has a small polygonal shape. The north side features a four-centred arched doorway with a studded plank door. Above this, the building has a tall, tapering octagonal upper section made of brick, which is accented by stone bands at both the base and the top. The structure is topped with a ball finial.
