Description

No. 22 Kirby Holt is an early 19th-century house with attached walls, gate piers, and railings. The house is built of rendered brick, with a hipped roof covered in Welsh slate and lateral brick stacks. It features pilasters at the angles of the main elevation and a moulded cornice. The symmetrical three-bay east elevation has a central Tuscan Doric porch with a moulded cornice, leading to a half-glazed door with a rectangular overlight and margin light glazing. It is accessed by a stone step. Flanking the door are three glazing bar sash windows on the ground floor, with three matching windows above. A front garden is enclosed by an attached brick and stone wall with rusticated ashlar angle piers topped with pyramidal caps. A low wall with iron railings sits above the wall, linked by a central gate. The interior includes an open string stick baluster staircase with carved tread ends and a wreathed handrail, along with reeded door architraves and several original fireplaces.
