Description
The Reading Rooms, now a house, were built in the early 19th century with a late 19th-century addition. The building is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof with a brick gable stack on the east side, along with a stone eaves band. It is a single-storey structure with two bays, and the rear addition also has two bays from the late 19th century. The north elevation includes a central 20th-century door flanked by 20th-century segment-headed casements. The west gable wall features a segment-headed plain sash window, while the south side of the rear addition has two similar windows separated by a brick pilaster strip. The building is listed partly for its historical interest and included for its group value.
