Description
Bridge Farmhouse and the attached farm building are located on Derby Road in Swarkestone and date from the early 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings and features a slate roof with brick gable stacks and a dentilled eaves band. It stands two storeys high and has three bays. The central entrance consists of a panelled door with a divided overlight, set beneath a wedge lintel that has a slightly arched bottom edge on either side of the central keystone. Flanking the door are glazing bar sash windows, also beneath similar lintels, with three additional sash windows located above. Attached to the north side of the farmhouse is a single-storey farm building that has a plain tiled roof and a blank wall facing the street. This building is included in the listing for its group value with the farmhouse.
