Description
The Chop House and Cart Shed, located north of the outer stable range in Calke Park, is a 19th-century building featuring a loft and a cart shed. It is constructed of red brick with plain tile roofs and has one brick gable stack. The building has a dentil eaves cornice and is arranged in an L-shape.
To the west is the two-storey chop house. The south elevation includes an external flight of steps leading to a segment-headed doorway below. To the left is a lean-to with another segment-headed doorway. On the right, there is a blind segment-headed opening, a segment-headed window with a plank shutter, and a segment-headed doorway with a plank door, all set within a lean-to bay. The upper floor features a doorway with a flat arch and a plank door, along with two shallowly segment-headed openings.
The cart shed, located to the right, consists of six bays supported by circular brick columns with stone capitals, and a four-bay range returns to the south.
